LAURIES FIRST LAYOVER VISIT TO CHICAGO

Laurie layed over in Chicago for the first time as an Alaska Airlines employee. While on her layover she was able to visit with her Mother's 2 sisters and brother. The 3 of them met Laurie at her hotel and during there visit they enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Although it was a short visit it was a time to to reminisce about the Robino family and to get caught up on each other's lives.

COUNCILWOMEN RUNS FOR VICE PRESIDENT

Madison, who was already voted in as Councilwomen for Vintage Hills Elementary, ran for vice president of the Vintage Hills Elementary School in September. She did a wonderful job campaigning for the position. She made posters and banner's as well as several other items that she was able to pass out to remind students to vote. Prior to the vote Madison had to present a live speech (via live-broadcast on TV from each classroom) throughout the whole school. Although Madison did not win the Vice Presidency she was sure happy that she was involved in the process and looks forward to running for another position next year. She also still holds the Council position at the school which continues to keep her busy.

MERIDIAN TAKING SKATING LESSONS

Meridian is taking skating lessons. The lessons are on Saturday mornings with about 6 other kids. On the first day she started at the beginner level so the instructor could access her skills but after just 1 minute the instructor moved her up to the next level. The hardest part about the lesson's however is getting her off the ice when the lesson is over. She just loves it!!

STEELERS GROUP SURPRISE CHARGERS ELIAS

Mr Elias, Madison's 4th grade teacher, is a huge fan of the San Diego Chargers. Each Friday during football season Mr Elias allows his students to wear a football jersey to class. The problem is he expects the jersey worn in class be nothing other than a Charger jersey. So, to Mr. Elias's surprise 5 girls; Madison, Karter, Briana, Kily and Tomison were each sporting a Pittsburgh Steeler jersey on arrival. When Mr. Elias saw them he politely turned his back and walked away in disgussed. During class Mr. Elias devised a plan to get the girls back in some way so he decided to take their seats from them for about 20minutes while the Charger faithful were comfortably seated. He also had the girls do more jobs above and beyond what is normally required of them. All of this of course was in the name of "FUN AND LAUGHS" but make no mistake......Mr Elias takes his Chargers seriously and will retaliate against anyone (including the 5 girls pictured) who goes against his BOLTS. Hey girls? way to go!!

Their teachers are Mr. Elias and Mrs. Ciota respectively and early preliminary reports suggest that both girls love there new teachers and look forward to a great year.

THE CREW "CATCH A WAVE" WITH GRANDMA AND GRANDPA

Several words describe the week!!... Extraordinary, Fun Filled, Exciting, Breathtaking just to name a few. The getaway was Hollywood Beach in Oxnard California. The Temecula Crew drove up the coast on August 5Th to meet Grandpa and Grandma at the rented beach house retreat that sat just seconds from the beach. The house was absolutely perfect for all of us with plenty of room to spare. We enjoyed evening walks, a roller skate excursion to the farmers market, scooter rides down Ocean Avenue. Daddy, Madison and Meridian digging for sand crab's and catching crab's along the jetties. The 1 hour boat ride through the Channel with Daddy, Madison and Meridian at the helm and dining out at the Whales Tail and the Fisherman's House. Of course the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The most cherished memories however, will be of the time we spent with Grandma and Grandpa!

MERIDIAN LOSES FIRST BABY TOOTH

Meridian lost her first baby tooth on Sunday morning the 15Th of July. We almost lost the tooth when Madison (as she was brushing it for the tooth fairy) accidentally drop it in the sink. In doing so the tooth went down the drain! But cool heads prevailed as handyman Dad (not) went under the sink and unscrewed the drain-pipe. After an exhausting search the shiny white tooth was found!! I bet the tooth fairy hasn't ever seen a whiter tooth.
